Water is at the heart of this issue of History Sketchbooks with two articles. The first introduces us to three streams straddling the townships of Sutton and Brome which have been real engines of development; the other describes innovations made to Sutton’s water and waste management systems during the expansion years of 1963–1984.
A third article takes us back to Abercorn in the last century through the memories of four former residents. Finally, in the last article, we meet the priest Narcisse Eusèbe Mailhot who presided over the construction of the Saint-André Catholic church (1872).
